    Description

Original bronze miniature "El Camino Real" California Mission guidepost bell made by the A.C. Forbes Foundry of California in 1915.
This desktop bell is cast in bronze. The outside of the bell is embossed "1769 - 1915" and "EL CAMINO REAL". The base is embossed "MISSION BELL GUIDEPOST MARKING EL CAMINO REAL THE KING'S HIGHWAY". The sign on the post reads "EL CAMINO REAL - SAN DIEGO - LOS ANGELES - SAN FRANCISCO". The underside of the base is hard to make out but most likely reads "MRS. A.C. FORBES - PAT. 1914"
It stands 9" tall on a 3" diameter round base, and weighs 1/2 lb.
The real Guide Post bells were placed along California's 800 mile long Camino Real highway marking the route from one mission to another, all the way from San Diego to San Francisco. Get this authentic antique souvenir replica of one of those bells.
