    DESCRIPTION:
I SELL ONLY WITHIN THE U.S.  NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING OFFERED.
I’m offering today one of my beautiful Antique Madame Alexander dolls aka known as "AX" which I've dressed in an adorable 1940's pastel pink batiste dress with ornate hand needlework flowers.  She is also wearing a 1940's pastel pink satin jacket with matching bonnet.
She has always been one of my prettiest dolls in my collection.  Her composition is beautiful and hard to believe she's from 1920's to 1940's era.  Wait till you see her in person!
I will start at the top of the doll and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has her original saran hair which is braided in pig tails and tied pale pink satin ribbons around the pigtails and tied a bow on each one of them.  As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has hazel colored open close sleep eyes with long eyelashes which have been spared from the hands of her previous little mommies.  Her eyes open and close freely and have such a precious look to them.
She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her open mouth with two top teeth peeking through.  Her lips are painted bright red color with felt peeking from behind her teeth.  Her cheeks have wonderful coloring to blend well with her beautiful bright eyes.
Her head, arms and legs are composition.  Her body is original to the doll which is muslin fabric.  It has turned dark over the years, but that is normal for a doll with this much age to her.  She has two small patches on her body which were put there for areas which I'm sure had worn spots.
The patches obviously were applied before I purchased her, so she was mended many years ago.  The back of her neck is hallmarked: "AX" aka Madame Alexander.  I researched and the "AX" was used somewhere between 1923 to the 1940's era.  I wasn't able to determine the name of the doll, but she has a beautiful face.
Now to her adorable vintage outfit I chose for her.  I found this 1940's soft baby pink batiste doll dress with gorgeous pink embroidered flowers to the top of the high waist bodice.  She has Cinderella style sleeves which come down to her elbow area.  As you go around to the back side of the dress, there are four original pearl buttons which keep the dress in place on the doll.  Coming back around to the front side, I tied wide pale pink satin ribbon around the high waist and took it around to the backside with a large bow and streamers going down the back side.  That way, she looks pretty from either side you're looking at.  The skirt on the dress is gathered tightly for added fullness and looks oh so sweet.  There is a wide hemline on the dress which has a lovely row of delicate white lace.  Under her dress, she is wearing a cotton slip with delicate lace framing the hemline.  Under her slip, she is wearing pink bloomers.  For cold days, I found this 1940's satin jacket with long sleeves in the palest of pink color.  There are delicate pink satin bows randomly placed on the front of each jacket sides.  Beautiful lace frames the exterior jacket as well as the long sleeves.  There is no collar, but has pink satin ribbon for keeping the jacket closed.  The lovely jacket came with it's original bonnet which is trimmed with the same delicate lace and pink satin bows.  The jacket and bonnet are completely lined in white satin.  I honestly don't think a baby ever wore the jacket or bonnet.  It looks exactly the same as it did when I purchased it some 45 years ago.  Her little pig tails hang out from the bonnet and look so sweet.  She is wearing white socks with embroidered flowers on the front of each sock.  Her shoes are white with pink accents Mary Jane shoes and are vintage, but never worn by another doll.  The tops of the shoes have delicate pink satin bows with gathered white lace framing the top of each shoe.    This adorable doll will be coming with her off-white and pink bunny rabbit to keep her company at her new home.  The bunny has pellets inside its body, so it is floppy and droops nicely on the dolls arms or lap.
All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.   Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
    SIZE:
This antique Alexander composition doll is large in size measuring approximately 24" tall.  Her precious bunny rabbit measures approximately 8" tall.
    CONDITION:
I really don't have anything negative to say about this antique doll.  I personally feel she is in good condition because I don't find anything significantly wrong with her.  She has two patches on her body which she's had since she came into my care.  Her original wig remains beautiful today.  Her eyes open/close freely and she has her original long eyelashes.  Her clothing is vintage, but has been laundered and ironed prior to listing the doll.  Her shoes are vintage, but have never been worn by another doll.  She is free of odors.  You will love this doll when you set your eyes upon her.  It's very difficult to find a Madame Alexander doll like this one.  They don't come up too often, so hope someone out there will want to bring her home to them.  P
