Description
#076 Fairy Princess Doll produced late 1930s or early 1940s with the Tiny Betty face by Madame Alexander. I have a pair. This auction is for the one with legs. They are so similar yet you can see the hand-painted differences in each girl's side glancing eyes.7" (18 cm.) All composition, painted blue side-glancing eyes, closed mouth, blonde curly mohair wig, jointed at shoulders and hips with painted ribbed white socks and flat black Mary Jane strap shoes.
She is wearing an ivory satin gown with burnished gilt braid trim, ruffled butterfly sleeves, pleated net or cheesecloth petticoat and gold millinery trim crown.
Crisp and clear tag on dress says "Fairy Princess / Madame Alexander NY USA / All Rights Reserved". Doll is marked on the back of her torsos MME ALEXANDER.
Condition Issues
: Please see photos for details on these comments. missing pantalets. Foxing-type staining on gown and a few small holes. Recently restrung. Chip at left shoulder of the doll and a sharp mold flaw under her arm on her side. Face has some light craze lines and paint issues. Little chip on back heel of one painted shoe. No smells.
