Immaculate Plate Fossil Crinoids, Crawfordsville, Indiana

Description

On this superb piece of intact matrix are seven fossil crinoids, six of them different. Working from left to right, we have a superb Scytalocrinus robustus, with very feathery pinnules at the tips of its arms; a hearty Agaricocrinus splendens, with the bottom of its calyx up; a neighborly Macrocrinus mundulus; a small undescribed inundate; a very well-preserved Lanecrinus depresses, just overlapping the undescribed inundate; a well articulated Agaricocrinus splendens; and, beneath the Agaricocrintes, but just peeking out, a Sarocrinus granilineus.
All of the fossils are very 3-D and, despite some overlap, are nicely presented, excepting the buried Sacrocrinus. Even so, this is a wonderful piece with a great variety of fossilized crinoids.
