    Description

    The Indonesia 1,000 Rupiah banknote is a part of the family of banknotes issued in 2016 to commemorate the State Defense Day. The obverse displays Tjut Meutia who was an anti-colonialist. The bank logo also appears on the front as the banknotes registration device. The map of Indonesia and the National Emblem is also visible. Centered on the bills reverse is a Tari Tifa which means a dancer with a drum. At the right part is the Fort Belgica in Banda Neira, Banda Islands which is located in Maluku Province. An orchid as well as the bank seal can also be found. The banknotes solid security thread has a printed BANK INDONESIA. Signed by Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo and Sri Mulyani Indrawati, the 141 x 66 mm paper money has Tjut Meutias portrait as its watermark.
