Description

This Indonesia 50,000 Rupiah banknote was released in 2005-2016 by Bank Indonesia. The obverse side of the note bears a portrait of I Gusti Ngurah Rai, an Indonesian national hero and military commander who fought against the Dutch in Bali during the Indonesian War of Independence. The reverse side features a beautiful view of the lake Bratan in Bedugul, Bali, and the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple with a man in a canoe. The note measures 149 x 65 mm and contains a windowed security thread printed with BI 50000 to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would reflect a watermark image of I Gusti Ngurah Rai and the electrotype logo.
