    Description

    Rare original 9.5" x 6" folded letter from The Office of Jones Brothers Publishing Company to "School Teacher" in Orangeville, Pennsylvania (Columbia County) asking for representation/sales of John Clark Ridpath's book "Popular History Of The United States". The letter is stating that school teachers would be the best "sales" people for the book since they are familiar with the subject matter in the book since they teach history in school. The letter is dated 1877.  The letter is in excellent condition but 2/3 of it has browned/tanned a bit with age. Original mailing envelope and rice paper envelope that I found this piece in is also included.
