Madame Alexander Composition Wendy Sleeping Beauty Doll 1939

Description

Vintage unmarked Madame Alexander doll made around 1939-1940. Approximately 15" tall. All composition, mohair wig, untagged but original dress.
She has the beginnings of cracking on the insides of her hands - the outsides are not crazed or cracked. There is a crack on one side of her neck, and near her leg joint - see collage photo. Very little overall crazing, although there is some.
Her left eye is missing eyelashes. Her mohair wig is very matted and there are some bits of glue to one side, perhaps someone tried to reglue it or perhaps the wig was replaced at some point.
Despite the defects as noted, she does make a nice display doll.
This doll came from a neighbor who did not remember when or where it came from, it had been in their family for a long time.
I restrung her and gave her a pair of vintage brown slip on shoes, not original. She originally came with a crown or sequined band - that is missing.
