RARE 1940-43 Madame Alexander 21" Wendy Ann Doll - Composition - Jointed
    Description:
For your consideration, a Gorgeous and Rarer in size Madame Alexander Composition jointed doll 21" tall, Circa 1940-1943.  She has the Wendy Ann facial mold, with the pensive expression, she is full composition, no cracks or lifting, no rubbing at arm, leg, and neck joints.
She has the Wendy Ann facial mold, this was mold created for Madame Alexander's granddaughter.   She has rose red pursed lips, nice cheek blush, lower painted lashes, full upper brush lashes, gorgeous clear ocean blue sleep eyes, gray eye shadow, and thin stroked brows.  She has her original honey blonde mohair wig in original set with soft curls framing her face and around the nape of her neck, just a Gorgeous Doll:)
Although unmarked, as many of Madame Alexander's early composition dolls were, this Wendy Ann doll was used for the "Southern Girl" & "Bridesmaid" outfits.  This beautiful 21" all composition jointed curly mohair-wigged blonde is endearing by means of her perfect proportions, young lady-like grace, & very kind expressive face.  Unlike many world-wise type dolls, her demeanor seems to say, "come here, tell me about it. It will be all right."
The eyelids are airbrushed with an eye-deepening soft brown over lovely hazel blue working sleep eyes, with lashes painted below & full brush lashes above.
Her cheek & lip color is lively & there do appear extremely shallow & minimal craze lines on the forearms, seat, & one across the cheek, which may have been touched up.  There is a factory as-made blob of paint at the right back side of her neck & head joint.
She wears white cotton undies with lace trim, vintage velour ankle tie black shoes, & a vintage red green black & white plaid dress with white collar, ric-rac & mother of pearl buttons - an all 1940's era outfit.
