RARE - OUTSTANDING  MADAME  ALEXANDER  -  "McGUFFEY ANA"

WoW - RARE doll in RARE original outfit.
This McGuffey Ana is all original.  Imagine, she is about 85 years old!
For price reference see page # 19 - 20 in the book, 'Doll Values' 13th Edition by Linda Edward.  This girl is 23 inches tall.  She is seldom seen.  And to think that she is all original.  It is obvious that she was never a play doll.  She has no repainting and little to none crazing as examined by a black light.  She wears an underskirt/panties: a pale blue swiss dot dress with rick rack and lace; a silk vest with matching bonnet and purse; white leather boots and cotton socks.  Her original wig has two pig tails with pale blue ribbons.  Her silk bonnet and parts of her silk vest and silk purse are melting because of age. I have not undressed her so that I would not tear any of the silk clothes.  Her fingers are in excellent condition.  Her brown eyes are excellent.  And her facial painting is excellent.  This is an outstanding example of an early composition Madame Alexander doll.  Maybe a blue ribbon winner.  From my home to yours.
