    Description

Souvenir china bowl (8” in diameter, 1 ¾” in height) for the Public Library in St. Albans, Vermont, Made in Germany for L.H. Lombard, St. Albans, Vt., circa 1890s to 1900s. The view, entitled Public Library, St. Albans, Vt., shows an attractive public building. I believe this building is still the Public Library in St. Albans. The bowl has gilt decorative detail and a pink-purple graduated tint on the rim. The light area at the top edge doesn’t seem to be damage or even wear—just a loss of tint color. The bowl is in good condition with light wear and soiling. There seems to be some light surface dirt apparent on the light area. The illustration is crisp and clean. Nice St. Alban’s VT souvenir!
