Vintage 1930s 12" Composition and Cloth Alexander Snow White Dopey Doll in Tagged Costume

Lovable Dopey, one of Snow White's Seven Dwarfs created by Disney and interpreted here, by Madame Alexander
as a 12" composition and stuffed cloth doll. Dopey is wearing his original tagged costume which includes blue pants, orange velvet two button coat and faded brown soft cap. He has sewn on black shoes and is missing his belt. Good condition body and face. His head and shoulder plate are composition, The rest of his body is stuffed cloth. It is stitch jointed at the shoulders. His arms move freely but his legs barely move. He has painted, upward glancing eyes without lashes, single stroke eyebrows, pale cheek blush, closed, smiling, painted mouth showing a tongue and laugh lines. He is bald by design. His cap is glued on his head.
CONDITION
Good  played with condition. Nicely painted facial features. He has been to the "spa", meaning he has had light refreshing and cleaning. Painted facial features look good - with some roughness on the black of one eye. Flesh color paint loss on the tip of the nose. Moderate soiling of the composition. A repaired crack behind one ear as well as a small repaired chip on the same ear. Fingers are cloth and stitch indicated. No toes because shoes are sewn on. Entire cloth body is in tack but has moderate age soiling. Composition has very, very light crazing. No large stains, chips or flaking paint. Costume is in fair condition. Hat has soil, fading, a small tear on each side and is glued to the head. Pants are in tack with light age soil. Jacket has working two button closure, free of ripped seams, but has stains that have been painted over to color match but are still visible.
