I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE WITH THE BABY JANE TAGGED DRESS
• Doll is marked on the back of her head - Baby • Jane Reg (then I believe it to read - MME) Alexander
• There is a number 38 and a line on the back of her head that appear to have been written in pencil, maybe pen
• Doll has various cracks/crazing/marks/wear/areas where paint is missing
• The majority of her face appears to have been repainted and her lips appear to have been repainted
• The majority of her arms/hands appear to have been repainted, along with the joint area of her legs
• Her feet have some damage
• Her eyes are crystallized and discolored
• She has a bit of a bald/thinning spot on the top of her head on the right side
• Some of her eyelashes are shorter than the others
• Dress is tagged - Universal Starlet Baby Jane Madame Alexander
• The buttons on the dress appear to have been re-sewn onto the dress
• I believe the whole outfit to be original except the hat, which although it looks pretty old, probably isn’t original to this outfit at least
• There are two little spots in the inside of the dress that appear to be brownish orange stitches that you can’t really see much on the front of the dress
• One layer of the collar on the dress on one side of the dress appears to have come detached from the dress a bit
• The other side of the dress, with the other piece of the collar, there appears to be some extra stitching
• Overall, this dress appears to be in pretty great shape, with maybe some discoloring at most
• The under outfit has a good size snag on the front at the bottom and some minor wear type holes/rips and a pretty small stain on the back
• Both shoes have various wear but on one the bottom part of the is coming off a lot
• There is some white in the bottom of the shoe, the shoe that is coming apart a bit
• The hat has some discoloring and the stitching for the flowers doesn’t appear to be original
* The vast majority of the items have been in my home for many years, some up to 30. Some were purchases along the way, and on eBay in the last 10 years or so.
* I am sorry that I am not able to describe these items in better detail, my grandmother knew this stuff backward and forwards but unfortunately she is no longer with us.
* Nothing I have is a museum piece, these were just collected through the years from all over the place, mostly doll shows and doll shops in Texas.
* Most of these items are from a collection that spanned 50 years, many of these dolls may have been touched up, repainted, repaired, etc. Some I can tell and some I just don't know.
* I am no expert on the
originality
of clothes, hair, accessories etc. Please looks at the pictures and go from there.
* Items are from a non-smoking home.
* I will combine shipping in most cases (as long as the auctions end in the same few days), just wait for the auctions to end and contact me.
* I have sold stuff on and off for over 20 years on eBay, under this same name. If there is a problem please contact me and I will try to work it out. This is not something I am doing just to make a quick buck.
* Shipping can be expensive, please keep in mind that the actual cost paid to the post office is not the true cost, eBay includes that amount when I am charged fees which is around 13%, If you win an auction and you get your item and you feel your were unfairly charged then contact me about a refund. I loose money on shipping at times, it just comes with the territory.
* I have a very large collection and I intend to list a lot of items in the near future. I have way more items than I can probably ever list.
