Vintage Madame Alexander Twins “Butch & Bitsy” Composition & Cloth. c.1930’s. Condition is "Used".
Beautiful set of Madame Alexander brother and sister twins “Butch and Bitsy”
Both measure 12” in height and have composition head, hand and legs with cloth bodies.
Both dolls are in superb condition and belonged to my great aunt who had them together her entire life.
They were kept inside of a glass enclosed collectors cabinet away from direct sunlight and dust.
I believe they are both in their original outfits, but their shoes look to be replacement, and I had to replace the tie on Bitsy’s cape because the delicate ribbon just fell apart.
Butch is wearing a one piece romper with linen shorts, a cotton long sleeve shirt, a light blue sweater with white trim, a white cap and white nylon socks with navy blue replacement tie shoes.
Bitsy is wearing a blue cotton dress with a shear, off white apron and collar with lace trim at her sleeves. She also has an off white cape with lace trim, a matching white lace bonnet and off white cotton bloomers with light blue nylon socks and navy blue shoes which I believe to be replacement.
Both have clear, brown sleepy eyes with full, original lashes and painted bottom lashes. They have blonde, mohair wigs with zero hair loss.
Only Bitsy has 2 craze marks above her right eye. Aside from that both dolls are free from any crazing, chips, cracks or repairs. Their cloth bodies are spotless with no darkening of the fabric, rips or stains.
All fingers and toes are intact.
