Vintage Play Script WHILE MRS. SANTA WAS AWAY - A Delightful Christmas Comedy with Music
    1938, Banner Play Bureau
Here's a long-forgotten Christmas play script, "A comedy with music in one act" by Mary Kennerwood Bell.
Brief synopsis:  Mrs. Claus leaves to visit the Duchess of the Green Icebergs.  While she's gone, three troublemakers kidnap Santa and rule in his place so they can "spread gloom and misery in place of joy and happiness."
The Christmas Fairy returns Santa and turns the troublemakers into "three enthusiastic helpers, pervading the hearts of of all with the true spirit of Christmas."
The play can be used by children, but it was written especially for a women's organization.
The script is 24 pages followed by the sheet music for three songs:  "Trimming the Tree," "Santa's Dilemma," and "The Candy Kids."
Booklet is in good condition, spine is separated along the bottom below the staple.
    Measures 6.5" x 9".
